In honor of our nation's birthday, we thought sharing a few interesting facts from our history would be an interesting read for our clients.
1804 : Lewis and Clark celebrate July 4
Staging the first-ever Fourth of July celebration west of the Mississippi River, Lewis and Clark fire the expedition cannon and order an extra ration of whiskey for the men.
Six weeks earlier, Lewis and Clark left American civilization to depart on their famous journey. Since their departure, the party of 29 men--called the Corps of Discovery--had made good progress, traveling up the Missouri River in a 55-foot keelboat and two dugout canoes. When the wind was behind them, Lewis and Clark raised the keelboat sail, and on a few occasions, managed to travel 20 miles in a single day.
1826: Two former presidents die on the same day
By remarkable coincidence, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, the second and third presidents of the United States, died on the same day, July 4th 1826, the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Adams' last words were, "Thomas Jefferson still survives," though his old friend and political adversary had died a few hours before.
1911: Heat wave strikes Northeast
On this day in 1911, record temperatures are set in the northeastern United States as a deadly heat wave hits the area that would go on to kill 380 people. In Nashua, New Hampshire, the mercury peaked at 106 degrees Fahrenheit. Other high-temperature records were set all over New England during an 11-day period.
1984 : Petty wins 200th race
Richard Petty and family celebrating his 1,000 NASCAR start in 1986
Richard Petty, the king of stock car racing, won his 200th career victory at the Firecracker 400 race in Daytona, Florida, in front of a record crowd that included NASCAR's first presidential patron, Ronald Reagan. Petty's record for wins will very likely never be broken.

When we launched our newly designed website in January 2007 we decided to get a little creative with our team bios. Let me tell you, when I asked my team to write their own bios…and mine, I was floored with the originality…the feedback we get every week is awesome…I never realized how many people read our bios because in the past, we never got feedback…now, I hear a comment on our bios every week !!

It is no secret that part of our success has been our involvement with the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce. In the 3 years we have been members, our revenue has increased an average of 30 % each year…and most of our business comes from contacts or referrals from other Chamber members. If you receive this enews and are not currently a member, I encourage you to call me today and I can connect you with a chamber account manager. Chamber membership is the best investment you can make in your business.

In February we launched our latest product called Bonfire. Bonfire is an easy-to-use tool that lets you track the status of ongoing projects on a wide range of dimensions from any internet connection. When you login you will instantly see which projects are on schedule and which are behind. You can monitor all related "Todos" and filter by project, employees or status.
Any business that has more than 1 client can use Bonfire.
Many web based project management solutions force users to adopt new, unfamiliar processes that cause users more work. Bonfire is designed as a fast, easy to use solution to enhance and improve any processes that you already have. Team productivity will skyrocket in a collaborative environment that is customized to your unique work process.
It doesn’t matter if you a have formal process in place, or you're starting for the first time, Bonfire can provide you and your team with the tools you need to complete projects on time and under budget.

We know the most important feature is simplicity.
We've “burned” the complicated stuff that gets in the way of effective project management.
Access information 24 hours a day from any internet connection.
